Steve, As you know one of the great things about Web 2.0 is that broadcasts can easily be recorded. Therefore, even if somebody can't tune in at a specific time, he/she will be able to watch a copy of the broadcast at a time of their choice. I would suggest switching up the times, wtih significant amounts of advance notice and publicity so that people can attend one session even if they can't attend another.
Hello, all. Web 2.0 is just taking off in Australia. So we from the other side of the world would really appreciate it if it is broadcast so that we can also at least be passive observers if not active participators. I am quite new at all this but have loved classroom2.0. It has opened up a whole new world for me, especially as I teach in a rural, reasonably remote area of Victoria in Australia and collaboration and professional development access has been difficult.I have made some great global friends and have commenced working on some long distance collaborative projects because of it. Keep up the great work and thanks.
I do like Elluminate as well. I'm thinking that whatever we do, we'll record it. I also want to do a series of screencasts that are just recorded sessions on how to accomplish certain tasks within Ning. Thanks for the feedback.
Steve, will these be hosted by you or a team of people. I'm thinking this might be a good idea for the EduBloggerWorld Global Greeters. Possibly having greeters host sometimes?
Hadn't thought about coming the two projects at all. Interesting. There is no reason that I would have to host, although I expect that the EBW Global Greeters will be focused on a much broader field than specific ways to use Ning... Let's see how the first few go, and then I hope you'll be an advocate for this kind of expanding!
Yes, I didn't actually mean to combine the two together. Hmmm... must have thought I was in the EBW Ning. I'll throw this at the EBW group to see what comes of it. Sorry for the confusion.
Welcome to the community for those using Ning to power their educational social network. Also be sure to check out Classroom 2.0 for general discussions of Web 2.0 in the classroom.
