Ning in Education

Using Ning for Educational Social Networks

Hello All,
My kids really want to get a chat function going on our ning network. They were thinking of linking it to moodle, but that seems like the long way around to me. Do you have any advice about what we could try?

How is the chat going? I embed Meebo in Moodle and on Ning (as well as on a wiki and teacher webpages) - it works great and everyone really likes it. You can also do a meebo room and be able to run videos (nice for you as a teacher to schedule a presentation)

Hi Connie,

Have just been looking at http://www.shoutmix.com/main/features.php Anybody used it? Looks quite secure.

Maggie,
Thanks! If it's secure, I'll look into it. Haven't yet gotten a chat going--too much question about how the kids sign up and who can access the chat rooms.
