Hi all,

We are trying to address the need of several educators for effective and easy tools for elearning. We have launched a free webapp that allow you to work together with students and others on the same project without downloading or installing anything. It is a great tool for those of you who are trying to bring technology to the teaching - check www.showdcument.com - and let us know what you think.

Yuval,

This looks like a great resource. I look forward to experimenting. Your link above is incorrect, though. Here it is: http://www.showdocument.com.

Thanks for sharing.

I recently joined Ning. (As of a week ago, I did not know that it existed! ) Currently, I teach high school English. Although in my heart of hearts, I am a humanities instructor. In former lives, I have taught Biology and practiced law.
I have been watching (with her permission) my daughter's facebook community and am interested in using this forum to share ideas with colleagues and hopefully, in the future, students.

Hi,

I'm Beth Willette, hailing from Lapeer, MI, a small town in the thumb area of Michigan. I have been teaching in the K-12 arena for 7 years now, but previously taught history at the university level, TQM & team training at a corporate training center, & science & life skills to disabled adults. I also spent a decade in software development as a project and quality assurance manager. I spent last year as a Teacher Consultant for my high school building, but prefer being in the classroom. I am currently assigned for next year at our alternative high school, and will be co-teaching English, Social Studies, Math, & Science. I am currently woking on my third master's degree- this one in e-learning.
I created a ning site last year for my high school, but couldn't get many people interested. I also created a site for my family, which is spread all over the world. My daughter and her French exchange student are in the process of creating a ning site for French and American students to connect with one another. The site will be bi-lingual- a pen-pal site to help both French and American students improve their language skills. I will be creating a site for the alternative high school as well, and hopefully I'll get more interest this year.

Hi, I am Jodi Brown. I am a new teacher. This is only my third year teaching. I teach third grade at Warrior Ridge in Missouri. I am currently in a co-teaching setting with a special education teacher. It is great and there is so much that we learn from each other on a daily basis. I am also attending classes for my masters in administration from William Woods. I hope to one day become and administrator and then go on to teach eductional classes at the college level.

Hello everyone!

My name is Meagan McGuire. I am a 9th grade Business teacher at Benton Junior High in Benton, Arkansas. I am starting my second year. I also coach the dance team here at BJH. I recently got married and moved into a new house. It has been great and life is good! I'm truly blessed!

I graduated from the U of A with a degree in Interior Design. After working in that field for a short time, I decided to become a teacher. I am currently in the Masters of Secondary Education at UALR. I am enjoying it and will be completely done next May.

I am joining Ning for a SCED class I am taking this summer.

Hi! I'm Wendi Cohen from Metuchen, NJ. I am pleased to be a part of this network. I am looking forward to incorporating some of this into my teaching. I am currently in a rather unique (and fun) position of teaching elementary art, and college level design. Yes, very different levels, although same material. I love all aspects of my teaching career, as well as creating my own art and design. Previous to teaching, I worked for many years as an in-house graphic designer for the music industry. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

Hello!
I have a question about the setup of your NING. I am setting up a similar NING for my district and noticed that your member pages were limited to very general information, and a comment box, while your selected member had a more customized paper. How were you able to do that? My concern is that our members of our NING when customizing their page, may make it more personal instead of focusing on the issue or topic at hand.
Thanks,
Heather Tate

Greetings from the Loveliest Village on the Plains, Auburn University. I'm Robert French and I teach public relations at Auburn.

We use social media/networks heavily in our classroom. PROpenMic is a Ning network we started. It is focused upon students, faculty and practitioners. Some faculty are already using the site for their classes, too.

Happy to find this resource. Thank you for building the network.

My name is Patrizia Clerico, I'm an Italian teacher at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, PA. I have been teaching for 10 years and love to find new and interesting ways to integrate technology into my lessons and keep my students engaged.
I recently purchased an iPhone and am interested in learning about it's capabilities with my lessons.
