Using Ning for Educational Social Networks

Hi everyone,
Next semester I am teaching instructional technology online. My course is one of the core classes for education majors. I am planning to have my students work in a variety of web spaces and would like to know if anyone is interested in developing some collaborative projects.
One of the ideas I have is to develop a portal called ITEC Lab Collaboration using ning. My plans are to have students use the site to work on joint projects such as webquests, research articles, and presentations for online conferences. If you are interested in this project, let me know. I figure we can actually use the portal to do a mini online conference for the members.
