Come join teachers around the world, esp Alaska, United States.
This ning was started so teachers in Alaska could share ideas, we now need people from outside Alaska to join and post questions for our members in Alaska.
We would like questions about what it is like to teach in Alaska.
I think they are not any more different then kids in other places, but the big different is in language learning, esp if the home language is not English. They never learn the native language well or English well. This makes their writing skills low.
Sorry I did not respond to this sooner. I missed the notification of a response.
I have started a project to explore cross cultural differences in special education and the Inuit will be part of that. I would like to ask you to join or suggest someone who would have more information be interested. I will take a look at the Alaska20.ning.com
Is there a written form of the language? What language group is the Inuit language related to?
