I want to have my students understand how they learn, in a more meaningful way. I was hoping that people might suggest tests or activities that my classes could use to help students understand their learning styles and aptitudes better.
Please let me know of any suggestions you may have.
Hi Thomas,
I would recommend presenting the first part of my Games To Explain Human Factors: Come, Participate, Learn, Have Fun! session to your classes. Games is provided to show how products and processes need to be customized to optimize human capability and minimize the impact of human limitations. Thus, the first part of Games teaches a great deal about sensation, perception, learning, memory, decision making and responding. It is also entertaining and fun as you can see in the 2008 photo album and 2007 photo album from DocTrain.
I distribute the Games presentation/manual at no charge to teachers upon receipt of their name, school name, address, telephone number, subjects taught and an email address which can accept files of up to 5 meg. I do verify the information provided as this distribution offer is only available to qualified teachers and professionals in the human factors/ergonomics field. I also offer free consultation to teachers via telephone on implementing the program. Additionally, I do offer school visits to present the programs. If teachers are interested in an in person presentation I encourage them to contact me as I will do everything practical to keep cost within budget. Indeed, I've never turned down a teacher's request for budget reasons.
