Using Ning for Educational Social Networks

I've been thinking about Islam and Christianity and how the Crusades in many ways was a battle to the death between the two religions.

  • Both religions were huge in their impact around the world and in many ways influenced many of the beliefs and traditions we have today.
  • Both share many of the same values even though they're expressed in different ways and yet we see Islam and Christianity pulled apart as two sides of the same coin.
  • Both molded the world in many ways defining things like: greed, the after life, and

What's your take on the situation. How do you compare Islam and Christianity? Is this divide necessary and what are the outcomes of looking at these religions this way?
