Hi everyone. I've written here before, but wanted to reach out again!

I'm working with a group of five other engineers/designers/entrepreneurs. I have taken a year off school with them to try and develop a free tool for middle school teachers. In a sentence, our premise is that teachers have not been given the tools they really need to effectively personalize learning for their students. We have spent months talking to teachers, students and parents, and would love to get your thoughts too! Let me know if you are interested :)

What a great site. Are there any NMSA members on this site from the Eastern US?

Hello everyone! I've introduced myself elsewhere, but I will again here.. My name is Marco and I am an undergraduate student at Olin College of Engineering in Boston. I'm taking an entrepreneurial sabbatical with 5 of my peers to "do something cool and learn a lot!" Well, our idea is still very loosly defined, as we are still in the trailing end of the first round of user studies and immersion.

Our vision is to design a web based tool for middle school students, parents, teachers, and administrators. It serves to enhance communication and collaboration in the middle school environment by virtually extending the current time and space boundaries of the classroom.

We're currently competing to win startup funding for our venture, which we still plan to spend the next 6-8 months doing full time (all six of us)! Sign up and vote for us if you like the idea! The website, Ideablob, is a really cool website, and many of the ideas are education related.
