I am writing to ask you all for your support in voting for a grant that I am trying to win for my elementary special education (autism) class. I am participating in a Microgrant program sponsored by PCI Education and an online community, called WeAreTeachers. The 10 recipients of this grant receive $200 to aide their work with special education students, as well as a flip video camera. Recipients are selected through an online voting process. SO -- If you have a moment, I'd really appreciate you going online and voting for my project. It would really mean a lot to me to have your vote and support! Just click here and then click the blue Vote button. Also, please share this link with your colleagues & friends and ask them to vote for my project. Thank you!!

Bob-

I worked with all types of disabilities. I have worked with students that have learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral problems, deaf, blind, dual sensory(deaf-blind), intellectual handicapped, muliti-handicapped, other health impairments and autism. I find the most rewarding group to work with are those that have learning disabilities. As an educator it is so sad when parents aren't willing to help their children better themselves. I have worked with all age groups. I have taught pre-school through adult education. I enjoy working with the younger children better. A lot of the adults that I have worked with do have a learning disability that was never known when they were in school. They are glad to find out that they are not stupid or lazy. It gives them a sense of relief.

I am not a special ed teacher but have been involved in research in the theory and accommodation of special ed students.
