Hmmm. When I was teaching, 9th grade social studies was geography. I was stumbling through it the first year having had no geography in 20 years, and trying to explain striated rocks. Went to a race at Pocano, and there, beside the car on the parking field, was a very nice piece of rock showing the layers. Back it went with me .... lots of aha moments followed.

I did teach 9th grade world history - now I'm an administrator and work with 9th graders (among other things). I also have a consulting business (www.solutionsetc.org) that focuses on 9th grade transition.

Thanks, Anne. Will do.
I'm familiar with Nottoway. Got a speeding ticket near there once! Also, their middle school coach used to bring their football team all the over here to Salem to play our team every year.

I just visited your awesome site agian. I am learning so much as I continue to visit. I see that you offer classes. I didn't see a fee for them. When I saw the books that you created, I was just totally amazed how you were able to put them online in that format.
I would love to get your site out there to others! So many can benefit from it.
I am so amazed at how much we have in common. I have also been retired for several years now. I also wrote children's books. I have self-published them while I was working, but haven't done much with them since. It is my desire to realy get them into the hands of kids.
Creating children's websites have been a passion of mine. I am also managing a business website and giving free ads to those who would like for me to help them.
These are the sites that I have been managing. I will spend this summer checking for broken links, etc.
This site is a school where I am mentoring.
