I have written software called Sketchlife, which may be relevant to educators, seeing as often a part of their goals in virtual worlds is to recreate a semblance of their physical educational institution in 3D, for which purpose Sketchlife is designed. It is a SketchUp-based tool for building in Second Life. http://vrshed.com/sketchlife
