Thak you Gabriela G, you document "Wiki-Based Aproach for Teaching Englis in Higher Education" is very interesting.
I'm going to read and make some comments.

I'll look at it. I don't think it would have anything to do with the network being public or not. My first thought is to check and see if there is some kind of firewall block at the school--has anyone tried from home?
Many thanks for the tips Gabriella. Good luck on your Journey. I share your ideal. lately i had got around to thinking of using a model of Ning network to co-ordinate communication and store multimedia resources - course wiki for group work, e-portfolio and docs (until i saw your post) with a course del.icio.us account and a pageflakes account. Anyway still early days in working through a strategy.
I will only be working with small groups of teachers initially, as we acquire more knowledge we'll eventually try something out with students (I work in Higher education in the UK)
Just read your Forum Post. Can you help me i'd like to know how do you add extra tabs to your tab menu.
Also i agree with your philosophy of using ning as the hub of student learning, now that i know there is a way to add documents as well - that will increase it's usefulness - but it is the discussion and the connections that i think are important to assist learning.
Welcome to the community for those using Ning to power their educational social network. Also be sure to check out Classroom 2.0 for general discussions of Web 2.0 in the classroom.
Please introduce yourself in the "Introductions" forum post. And to see a list of Ning networks being used in education (or to add yourself!), please visit Social Networks in Education.

Must be some kind of filtering issue?
