I have the students join the groups on my ning site. If they join but do not belong they only get assignment materials for the wrong class. If I catch it I remove them. I can but don't have it set up so that they have to be invited or approved to become members to a group. If you sign up and let me know you are there as an educator I will approve you, which will enable you to look around. Currently I am in a state of rebuilding for next year. Sat. I will remove all 8th graders who are in 9th grade to make room for others. I try to keep active membership to about 400.

Hi Shirley,

With your interest in using Technology for your 7th graders, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

Wow Shirley, you are all over the place! It is amazing as you read all of these sites and see what people are doing and where education is going! Let me know if you run across anything interesting.
