Regarding students starting to use 'glogsters' as you call it, our very own Nellie Deutsch - if you haven't connected with her yet, I'll make the intro.... she's doing classes on WikiEducator, and using blended learning....
We're very open to projects for K-12, and also, if you're ever thinking of going for a project for external funding, and using WikiEducator in some way, we'd be happy to lend some support. We have examples of successful proposals that we'd be happy to share with you along the way....

With your interest in Ed Tech and 21st Century Learning, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
