I read your entry on Steve's page and I wanted to get in touch. I can't figure out how to email you directly (I am still learning how to get around on Ning, and sometimes I can't find even my own home page!), so I thought I'd drop you a note here.
I just took a look at your Kingswear ning ring, and it is wonderful! I hope you can just take it "offline" for a bit and then be able to bring it back up when the grade level issue is resolved. And please don't feel foolish or like you've disappointed anyone by creating your wonderful site. Even the parts that people outside of the Kingswear network can view are inspiring... I tried to join the Kingswear ring just so I could watch two puppets speak in French!
About not noticing the age limitations when you started, again, please don't feel like you were being negligent or careless- even the banner at the top of the Ning in Education main page states boldly, "Ning Announces Ad-Free Program for K-12 Student Networks"
I'm sure this issue will get resolved (who can resist the friendliness, forthright thinking and open heart of a devoted elementary classroom teacher : )), and you'll be able to go back to creating vibrant learning platforms for your primary students.
Welcome to the community for those using Ning to power their educational social network. Also be sure to check out Classroom 2.0 for general discussions of Web 2.0 in the classroom.
Please introduce yourself in the "Introductions" forum post. And to see a list of Ning networks being used in education (or to add yourself!), please visit Social Networks in Education.
