Hi Marco,
Thank you for connecting. Please take a look at my Games To Explain Human Factors album and group. If you would like to bring this presentation to Olin let me know. Also, let me know if I can be of help in any other way such as resume comments... as you prepare for your career. Ron

Hi Marco,

Would love to learn more. My school is embarking on a one to one laptop program and we are using wikipages to communicate with parents and students. I was wondering how you see your software tool? Especially, since technology seems to be time intensive, how does your product save time and yet personalize the learning experience. I love technology but often it is so time intensive....Love to learn more about your program and work on testing it out.

No Charters in Vt. We are just spinning off a team of 5 teachers and creating a new school. I will remain principal of my school plus this school. It will be project based and will rely heavily on technology.

I am interested. We are starting a new school within our school district The goal is to have it be totally different from school as we know it. We are basing our work on Disruption by Christensen.

Hi Marco,
Thanks for sharing with me. Your project looks great. I think a very important part should be ongoing professional development for the teachers. I find at my school this is what is needed most to get teachers inspired and help the technologically challenged.

Hi Marco,
I love the Alight Learning idea and the project you guys are embarking on! This work is so important.
I am coordinator of a federally funded project in NJ for middle school education, write books about the internet for teachers, and teach graduate courses in ed tech for teachers who are aspiring to be principals. I say this to let you know that I am very much in tune with what you are doing.
I had written a very lengthy message to you and left the page for a moment to look up a url and came back, only to lose the whole message! arrrghhh! It was about 45 min worth of work. Don't have the energy to try to recreate everything.
Anyway, I think you are really onto something and would very much like to communicate further with you. One of the aspects of our middle school project is a laptop program in an urban middle school, which could be very fertile ground for your work. In addition, I am a Google Certified Teacher and plugged into a fabulous network of similar people all across the country, many of whom work in middle schools.
I have lots of ideas to share.
So, my email is lermanj@gmail.com. Drop me a line and let's see what we can come up with!
Sincerely,
Jim Lerman

Hi Marcotuts,

If your vision includes online learning I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's web based power point presentation platform. Both technologies might work to meet some of your needs

Our idea: create a modern technology experience in middle schools

Hello everyone! I've introduced myself elsewhere, but I will again here.. My name is Marco and I am an undergraduate student at Olin College of Engineering in Boston. I'm taking an entrepreneurial sabbatical with 5 of my peers to "do something cool and learn a lot!" Well, our idea is still very loosly defined, as we are still in the trailing end of the first round of user studies and immersion.

Our vision is to design a web based tool for middle school students, pa… Continue
