I've done some online book discussions using moodle and have some other ideas that I haven't fleshed out yet--you can see all we've done here. Scroll down to Moodle, the username and password is there. I teach gifted kids and the book discussions ...
I just started a new website for Gifted Ning teachers, and would love it it you would join since I can tell you would really get our community off to a great start. Here is the site: GiftedEducator.ning.com.
You're great. Thanks for the support and smiles. If you're ever in Tidewater area of VA look me up! I owe you at least one good she-crab soup for getting me on track here! ~Dana
Whew! Just watched the tutorial from Steve H. and built another site for the students. Now I just have to get the kids to transfer out of the Ning education one. I have my work cut out for me for sure! ~Dana
I'm so sorry. This is my first experience with a blog and I'm still trying to get my students onto the site so my main focus has been getting them enrolled and I've not focused on their chat content. I'll take a look at it tonight and tell them to shape up. I'm excited about having educational chats as soon as they are all on...so I'd hate to think a few behavior problems can ruin it for all of us. ~Dana Carr
Welcome to the community for those using Ning to power their educational social network. Also be sure to check out Classroom 2.0 for general discussions of Web 2.0 in the classroom.
Please introduce yourself in the "Introductions" forum post. And to see a list of Ning networks being used in education (or to add yourself!), please visit Social Networks in Education.
