Far too often
SortedSites.com will set up and optimize a Flickr account for a client, someone in a department will be assigned to update it with photos but I think they are missing the whole point of
Social Media marketing for a business.
The real key to Social Media marketing for business is to contribute to the conversation. In using
Flickr, its one thing adding pictures of your company, product, location or whatever but what you need to do is get involved, here are a few things you should be doing with your business flickr account:
1.
Join a group that is close to your product or service, don't just add photo's but contribute to the discussion.
2. Start
your own group and actively try and promote it. Search flickr and see if there are users that might want to join your group.
3. Build up you
flickr contacts, invite your clients to join you on flickr.
4. Comment on other photos you find interesting.
5. Make sure your
portfolio page is filled in and provides links to your websites.
6. Make sure your account photos are organized into sets.
7. Make sure your photos are optimized with correct title's, tags and a description sometimes you might not be able to do this to all photos).
8. Do not try and sell a product or service using flickr otherwise your account will be deleted.
9. Once a picture or set is indexed well in Google add a link back to your website, do not do this on every photo.
10. When you find a flickr user that has great photos, go to their profile page and
write them a testimonial.
11. Your
business name can be your username for the account.
12. Try and get quality photos on your account and make sure there are some personal ones of
staff or functions you may have attended etc.
