Hi Ron,
Thanks for the welcome! I am currently working on my dissertation proposal. I am a reading consultant and former first and sixth grade teacher turned doc student. I also spend a lot of time presenting and providing staff development around the new literacies. My interests are specific to using blogs, online notebooks, etc. for enhancing higher order thinking in reading and during writing. Found this Ning while searching for exemplars of Nings used with students. Haven't yet spent the time reading or introducing myself, so thanks for drawing me in!

Hi Ron!

I Don't check this Ning thing very oftten, and I just saw that you sent me birthday wishes two weeks ago.

Thanks!

I originally was hoping to use the Ning in Education for my coaching of elementary and junior high students, but I started getting spam on my Ning account, so I didn't think it would be safe for kids to make Ning profiles.

I am now planning on getting together with some parents and the schools this summer in developing a private Facebook page for track and cross country for both the kids and the parents to join. I am hoping to use this to post many multi-media examples of running and other events, general health and fitness issues, and videos of races. I am also hoping to allow for the students to dialogue with each other regarding the issues, and hopefully find a way to integrate what I do with the kids in sports with their PE programs in schools.

Dr. Shapiro, Thanks for the advice in the High School Psychology group. I am currently redesigning the psychology course, and I can use all of the guidance available. Your Games presentation sounds like a fun active way to learn about human limitations. I joined your group and I hope we could work something out in the fall.

Hi Dr. s\shapiro,

With you''re interested in including Education Technology as part of your work, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

I know of Caroline but never met her. I'd like to!

Could you publicize my course, http://webstrategiesforhealth, on the Human Factors website?
