About This Network and Me:

Ning, the company, is sponsoring this network by hiring me as a consultant to set it up and maintain it. I hope that you will find it is a helpful resource to you. My association with Ning began when I started the Classroom 2.0 social network using their platform.

I blog at SteveHargadon.com on educational technology, especially the use of Web 2.0 tools and Free and Open Source Software. I have a podcast series on educational technology at EdTechLive.com. I'm a passionate advocate for the reuse of computer equipment, and helping bring computing to those in low-income circumstances. My PublicWebStations.com website was started to provide internet access for hurricane refugees and aid workers after the Katrina and Rita hurricanes.

I also work as the project director for the Consortium for School Networking's (CoSN) K-12 Open Technologies Initiative. In addition, I started and now promote Olympus System's K12Computers.com refurbished computer program.

My network Floortime Repository was just added as a link on Autism Speaks resources. We have alink now on ICDL.com. I just never expected that our site would help so many parents.
I added some links for grants, insurance help for autism, social stories, workshops, news and research feeds. I had no idea it would become so big. Ginger Kenney a member on your network here, became a member of our community.
I actually call our network a community. Its so vast all the wonderful ways that information can be gathered to help parents. I made therapy checklists before I created the network which can be used for any therapy. Its amazing all the things your doing.wow do you ever sleep? Just kidding.

I really want to thank you for putting a site like this together. I have been learning a lot. This is my first time ever making a site at all. I had never done a blog before or article for newsletters.
I did an article on floortime in www.sensory-processing-disorder.com website and we were featured on the Interdisciplinary council on developmental and learning disorders. ICDL.com for short.
We have a link on their site and next month I will be writing an article for them. I was looking on here and I noticed the comment posts below. There is also ICDL Digital childrens library in any language link

Thank you for answering me so quickly. I was not familiar with that gmail trick. That is exactly what I needed. I appreciate your help very much! I spent two days and the library convention in Dallas with Joyce Valencia (sp?) and am sooooo excited to be using Nings in my school.
thanks again!

I am a Library Media Specialist and have a group of teachers who would like to do a project with their 8th grade US history classes. They would like for each student in their class to pretend to be a famous person from a time period in history. They would like their students to have a page that looks like a "My Space" page where they could invite George Washington to be their friend, add videos, audio and images. I understand how all of that works. What we would like to do is figure out a way where students would not have to use an email address when they sign up in order to protect their privacy. Our school district is new to using Web 2.0 technologies and we are needing to be conservative at this time. Is there a way each student could sign up and we could use one email address which belongs to the teacher? Thank you for your help!

Hi Steve
I was wondering if it was possible for the drop down tab in the members list to be sorted by who is online.
Thanks
